I asked Lizzy, my bearded dragon who crossed over in March, to send me a sign. Communicating with Lizzy, even though she has passed, was still possible but I wanted (and needed) a sign that she was always with me.
I got this idea from Tammy Mastroberte, and thought it was a great idea. But thinking up a good sign was not easy. I wanted a sign that would not be impossible, but also a sign that I would not normally see in my daily life. After a week of on-and-off thinking, I settled on teddy bears. This was a Tuesday morning, around 9:00am, and I said to myself, “Lizzy, I need and want a sign from you that you’re always around. I’d like that sign to be teddy bears. Please send me this sign.” This was not an animal communication, just a request I voiced in my head.
Around noon, I scrolled through my Facebook feed when a video of teddy bears caught my attention. Usually I need to click on the video arrow to start it up, but this video played on its own and the teddy bears bounced around. But they weren’t quite right for teddy bears and I decided they were real animals (perhaps quokkas, maybe not). Is this the sign from Lizzy? They sure looked like teddy bears for a while. So I asked Lizzy, “I’m not sure this is a sign. Please send me another sign.”
That evening, lying on the sofa, watching an old “House” episode, I saw a teddy bear! But the episode was about sick babies, so maybe it was just a coincidence. So once again, I asked Lizzy to send another sign because I still wasn’t sure. The closing scene of that “House” episode was a woman pushing a cart full of teddy bears – maybe a dozen of them. Lizzy answered. And Lizzy was very patient.
The next morning, my Facebook feed had another teddy bear. I’m a slow learner, but eventually I catch on! I anticipate lots of teddy bears in my future.
Love this sign. A big pile of Teddy Bears! Thank you, Lizzy.
